Today was fire up the H after a two year rebuild /restoration. I've had two single loud backfires. Distributor unit off. Cranked engine until first of the double marks on crank pulley was on the pointer. Rotated dist drive until that little resistance felt at number one, then alligned the shaft with the two drive slots, and installed dist. Got the loud backfire. Where doI go from here? My H manual only discusses the Mag installation. But assume the procedure in the SMTA manual is appropriate.
