You are exactly correct, and I am a Ford man. My biggest problem with any new truck, bar any brand and I have been around the Duramax and the Dodge with the Cummins is I have a 1988 Ford F250 that I bought new with the 7.3 Diesel in it, I can work on it but you have to have computers to work on new trucks. But the problem is people started buying the diesel trucks to drive as cars because it was"COOL" Yes my truck does not have the power your new truck does but with a banks torbo kit on it and 500000 miles without an overhaul, have replaced two injector pumps, one water pump and two starters! Find me any new truck with that longevity! I don"t care what brand. Before you start badmouthing, remember I am talking about a 20year old truck still running.
