I'll have to ponder on the Touch Control issue. Do you have a manual for it? There's an adjustment or two in the linkages that might be in play. Failing that, a rebuild will be in order. Not a bad project, but unusual. 14,332 O-rings and you should have 8 of them left over when you're done. A manual or the parts catalog illustrations are absolutely necessary for that project, but neither gives any guidance as to which O-rings go where, nor which eight will be left when you're done. All quite do-able, though, as long as you have a CLEAN place to work. The kitchen table is preferable to a dusty grimy workbench. I got evicted and did my work on top of butcher paper rolled out on the bench. 8^(
As far as the water pump, I have my old one sitting in the box waiting for a day when I have nothing else to do and can get access to a press to see if I can rebuild it. There's some touchy tolerances in there. For the meantime, the replacement seems to be working quite well. I'd advise the replacement route. Quick and easy.
