Ed - Well we can eliminate a mismatched spring alright! I did think of one other thing to check however: While you've got the gov riser cover off to check the bellcrank for stiffness, also check for vertical play in the throttle shaft at the bellcrank end (there should be no play). Also while you've got the gov riser cover off, run the engine and observe the bellcrank. If the bellcrank moves up and down with a jerky (not a smooth) motion, it says it's sticking someplace. Might try loosening the two screws a bit that secure the front end of the throttle tube to the gov riser housing and see if that helps. Let us know what you find! Bob
