sounds like a fuel problem, but eliminate the distributor first. pull the cap and see if the rotor snaps back a little if you turn it. timing is set static, motor off on tdc, if you have a timing lite toss it on there and see if the timing advances when speed is increased. if all good, go back to the carb. there must be a restriction somewhere. the carm on the m will put a lot of fuel through it when the tractor is working hard. with your main load jet all the way out, that thing should be smoking like a detroit deisel.
