We have a IH 656 Hydro with gas engine. Darn good tractor size for what we need. The hydro trans is getting weak were we have to baby it to push snow. On the low or high side it will slip. Both when its cold and also running warm Both filters get changed every year. Ive been doing some looking around and seen the "re-manufactered" hydros and the cost, core charge, shiping is going to be $4000. Wondering how involved it would be to do this myself. I know splitting the tractor is no problem for me, i got more then enough tools, and a shop to do this. Has anyone rebuilt the hydro before and could you provide some insite on were you got parts from?
