Phil The Farmall is the F-Cub model. The tractor was already converted to the 12 volt using a 12 volt coil and a ballast resister. The problem was that the system would not charge unless I over rpm'ed the engine to excite the alternator to start charging. The wiring was of suffient gauge but the switch would get very hot. The coil did ok because the ballast resistor was taking the load. I found the article written by "Genesee Products" for the proper 12 volt conversion. They recomended using the Napa IC14 coil and the Napa KSI-32 switch. I do not know if the coil has a internal resistor but I will check on that. Also the coil I got was the IC14SB. They say its the same as the IC14 but half the price. Now that you mention the coil I am wondering if it is the same. I will also check the point gap. Thank You for your input, it's given me some areas to start checking. Thanks Case
