Hello all,
I have a 1940 H that has the newer style PTO installed. It was originally equipped with the smaller diameter PTO, but was removed many years ago due to the shaft breaking. A few years ago I decided to re-seal the trans and replace a few bearings. While I was in the trans. I installed a newer counter shaft that would accept the "splined" style PTO. I have recently found the old PTO housing and would like to bring the tractor back to original by installing the old PTO with a new shaft. Since I have installed the newer splined style counter shaft, is there a splined style "old" style PTO unit out there somewhere? I seem to remember seeing a listing in the Value Bilt tractor parts catalog listing 3 styles of PTO for the H. I hope this wasn't too confusing to read, and if anyone could lend any advise, it would be appreciated! Thanks.
