The attached image is from the original manual and is the same as on the tractor. It is not a dual fuel unit and is same as the unit as shown in top of picture. The top idle adjusting screw does not seem to have any effect on engine idle. No matter where I set that adjusting screw the engine seems to run too rich.[Kicks out black smoke as if the choke is closed]. The plugs then carbon up and start to miss.
I have made sure the float is not leaking and the float valve seems to operate properly. I check this by moving float with base off and blowing through the fuel input line.
Its as if the replacement idle adjusting screw from the OEM repair kit is not doing what it is should be doing, controlling the amount of fuel at idle. So if its not controlling it at idle it likely is allowing fuel to get through the port at all engine speeds.
The screw measures 1.080" from the base of the head to the tip.
It appears the original carb was designed to handle two fuels [gas and kerosene]but perhaps does not do a good job at either!
