According to my 230 and 240 TC-53B Parts Catalog the hitch receivers are different between these two models. The 230 uses part nos. 522931R11 (L/H) & 522932R11 (R/H) sockets. The 240 uses part nos. 525595R11 (L/H) & 525596R11 (R/H) sockets. I believe the 240 also uses the large points while the 230 uses the small points. I also see this is contrary to what "IH fan" noted in their post earlier so one of us is wrong so you need to check further. I have purchased a Farmall 240 this winter but it is weathered in up north in the snow and haven't gotten it home yet so can't verify for you. I am told by a fast hitch expert friend who has one that the 240 is indeed a large point tractor as he cautioned me that I wouldn't be able to use the small point implements I have without those 1/2" adapter plates. The Parts Catalog does list a different part no. for the drawbars as well between a 230 and 240 so there is something different, Hal.
