Today is a sad day in Big Rock, IL. As of the end of business today, DeKane Equipment will no longer be a Case IH dealer. In CNH's infinite wisdom, they would rather have no dealer than one with a small market share. They would rather have their customers (the ones who don't turn green) drive 30-40 miles to the next dealer than keep one within 5-10 miles. They don't care that this dealership, in one form or another, has had a continuous IH contract since the 1880's, and the current ownership has held it for 57 years. No, they only care about their own bottom line, and how the company looks to the stockholders, not the customers they are supposed to serve. On a day like this, Cyrus McCormick and J.I. Case would be rolling over in their graves, not at all happy with the way their legacy is being run. Sorry for the rant here, I just thought some die-hard IHers would like to know.
