If you use an elec switch, to get the most bang for the buck and utilize all the advantages one has to offer, I suggest you match it with a high energy coil (that suits the switches current rating) also. Some (but NOT necessary) run a wider spark plug gap and IF you do that you need to use good quality plug wires and cap n rotor etc. If the plug gap isnt increased over stock, however, there shouldnt be any extra wire or HV arcing type problems.
They are NOT a cure all for other problems and probably dont raise HP much if any at all, but most report improved starting and idleing characteristics.
HOWEVER if they crap out youre screwed versus being able to file a set of points to get back to the shed.
BE SURE AND USE CORRECT POLARITY
It just doesnt seem they are of the quality and durability of modern high voltage high energy automotive ignition systems buttttttttttttt much of that has to with them ALSO no longer using distributors which our old tractor hybrid systems must still use.
