I have IH D-10 carburetor on a '45 Farmall H that was a mess.
I have just cleaned and put a rebuild kit into it. Ironically the kit came without any instruction and am playing off the IH manual. I am real close to a startup once I change oil, filter and ignition stuff. Non-magneto.
An out-of-box first time adjustment as I remember is as follows:
Low idle ... is a no brain'er.... makes it idle nicely.
Top Jet (closest to the manifold) is the idle air mix. Bottom out the needle and back off to 1-1/2 turns.
Bottom Jet (base of the float bowl) is the high speed mix. Bottom out the needle and back off 2-1/2 to 3 turns.
Fine tuning would be under load and tweek the high speed mix so not to run too wet but still not stray too far away from your start point.
I know that these carb's are fairly forgiving for a first time run. I just want to assure myself I am still working within basic specification.
