Two years ago I replaced the motor in my 856 with a DT 361 1206 motor. The D407 motor in my 856 diesel was past wore out and I found a 1206 that was wrecked, parking brake did not hold rolling down a hill and a oak tree removed the right rear axle and busted the clutch housing. The motor had less than 1600 hrs on a rebuild. I know the injectors need to go to the shop and the solar turbo has been replaced with on off a 1066 with a adaptor plate between it and the manifold. The motor don't have the power it should so i checked the intake pressure and under load, motor hot 2100 rpm's pulling it hard it only comes up with 2 to 2 1/2 lb pressure. Don't it need around 8 to 10 lb's psi? This the wrong size turbo? It was on the motor when I bought it. I took The air cleaner off the 1206 also so it has the big air cleaner with new filter. My 1466 runs around 8 to 10 psi under load. Do I need to change turbo and if so what will work on this motor?
