When I was a kid back in the fifties and nobody had four wheel drive trucks, I spent a lot of time plowing snow for neighbors with the Cub that I still own to this day. It had weights on all four wheels. I had to take the chains off because people complained that I was damaging their hot-top. Anything over six inches meant that I had to take my brother with me to help get the tractor unstuck by hand shoveling and pushing. Apart from the fact that the Cub is fragile, it has other limitations. The blade is not wide enough for use in the fully angled position. With the tread set in at 50 inches, the tires will not be tracking in the cleared path. Under some snow conditions, the angled blade acts like a rudder and the tractor cannot be steered. All inclines have to be plowed going downhill. If you are in an area where there is significant snowfall, you need a tractor that is more capable. My 504 is such a tractor and that is why I mentioned it. The Cub fitted with a sickle-bar mower is a wonderful machine and does a fine job with that implement. It is probably a fine planter and cultivator as well.
