I bought a 504 last year that has a loader on it. I have had to change the filters constantly and I have changed the Hi-Tran fluid several times now (which is ridiculously expensive)all because someone contaminated the system with junk and paint chips (I have no idea exactly what its contaminated with but it looks like paint chips and random dirt). The filters are a pain to change especially with the loader so I need to fit a filter into the system besides the internal filter. I've been considering where to put the filter inline and would like some suggestions. I bought a hydraulic log splitter filter which I think will work well, but it needs to be somewhere out of the way and somewhere that can be accessed easily. On a side note I have considered running kerosene through the system to try to flush it but I'm afraid of ruining seals. Any ideas on how to flush a hydraulic system?
