Last week I found another use for my SMTA. I have my buddies Aliis C tractor at my shop for a little repair, Rewired the tractor, replaced the intake/exhaust manifold, clean the carburator and when I went to put fuel in the tank it ran out the bottom. I removed the fuel tank and the bottom looked like a sprinkling can.
I called the owner and he brought me another tank but it needed some cleaning. The inside was all rust. I installed two pieces of threaded rod into the rear wheel weights of my SMTA. I then sat the tank on the rods tie down with some straps, added some pieces of log chain, about 10 feet. I then added a gallon of Diesel fuel to the tank and then took the SMTA for a ride. I did some yard work, did a lot of back on forth work with the loader. About 45 minutes later I removed the tank, fished out the chain, drained and flushed the tank with some more diesel fuel. The inside of the tank sure looks much better. I know I'm working on an Allis but it took a Farmall to get the job done. I'm sure this will work with a Farmall fuel tank.
