Thanks to everyone for the info. It is an M&W, as the lever is on the right side of the case, and can be shifted on the fly with a little care. The tractor has a distributor driven pump, the belly pump drive shaft is disconnected, and is just being used for the reservior. This thing also has power steering, a wide front off a 400, Worksaver 3-point, 12 volt single wire to alternator system, and new 13.6 38 rear tires. With any luck I'll be driving it home over the Holiday, Brrrr.
