Merlin - The advice the others have provided - especially about the condenser - is right on. When you get the new condenser installed however, try this test:

Take a good plug wire and stick a good spark plug on one end. Lay the spark plug on someplace grounded. Take the other end of the plug wire and plug it in the coil output nipple. Finally, turn on the ignition and manually open the points with a screwdriver. If you get a fat spark at the spark plug each time you open the points, your ignition system is fine as far as the distributor. (If not, there's a problem with the coil/points/condenser...)

Once you verify your getting fire outta the coil, next step is to retime the distibutor. Paul Schuler's our expert on that!

PS - I encountered the same "no spark" problem once. Cause turned out to be corrosion under the condenser can was not letting the condenser ground properly to the distributor breaker plate. Spent an entire evening trying to figure it out!
