Diagrams are for whimps!!!! Is your distributor properly TIMED to your engine???? Remove the #1 spark plug, turn the engine over (with the distributor cap off), notice what way the rotor is turning, turn motor until the timing marks line up. Now your distributor rotor will be pointing to #1 or #4,with the plug out you should be able to figure if #1 is on compression (rotor pointed to #1) or exhaust (rotor pointed to #4) if you can't put something in the #1 spark plug hole that'll pop out when # 1 is on compression and do it again. Anyway once you have it at #1 top dead center (compression) and you know which way the rotor spins put your #1 wire on the cap where the rotor is pointed, #3 next then #4 and finally #2
