Certainly not an engineer but as an observer of old stuff, the following is submitted. When belly pumps were being manufactured the implements that required hydralics used relatively small cylinders and correspondingly small fluid flow to accomplish the desired work. Many operating cylinders were 2"x8"! Loaders of that era required the most fluid even without hydralic buckets. The belly pump resevoir does not provide sufficient volume nor cooling to keep the fluid at it's best operating condition. For high volume applications especially with short cycle times, operators would do well to provide increase capacity, perhaps with an automotive type "automatic transmission cooler" mounted ahead of the radiator. Long answer, sorry Dick
