If you look at the picture, I have attached, you can see a short lever with a black handle. This is the lever that is used to raise and lower the fast hitch. The problem with it is it's hard to reach while I lean back to see where my hitch arms are while backing up to an implement. The rod laying next to it is attached to the draft control linkage that is on the tractor. This would be ideal to use since the control lever is on the right hand side of the seat and easier to reach. The one problem to make it work is that the hydraulic lever isn't what is used for the draft control. As you can see I have two lines drawn onto the rod. I used this so I could see what the rod did in relation to the lever. The way the draft control is supposed to work is you move the lever beside the seat to set the height, or depth you want the hitch to be. When the hitch reaches the desired depth the linkage is supposed to shut off the valve. When I move the lever so that the rod would push the lever ahead to activate the hydraulic lift. Then I push the lever ahead to see what the rod does in correlation with the lifting of the hitch. I thought that the rod/linkage would move to disengage the hydraulic lever when it reached the height I had the side lever adjusted to. But the rod keeps moving forward, and not back like I thought it would. I'm sure I'm missing something here, but I can't quite figure out what it is. I even clamped the rod to the lever to see it that would work, but the rod doesn't move the lever far enough to activate the hydraulics. Anyone have any ideas?
