How do they know??? When I was a kid I had a collie mix that was my hunting, hiking, camping companion. I had made a pack for him to carry stuff and when he saw me get it out he got all excited. He knew we were off on another adventure. During school, he would walk my sister to school, always following behind her and her friends. Kids would'nt bother her but if an adult came walking up, he would get between that person and the girls. He would sit at the gate until the bell rang for classes to start. Then he would walk home. School was out at 3:00 and he would wake at 2:30 from a sound sleep and run to school to walk the girls home. That was the only time he had anything to do with my sister.
