I burn it in a few pickup trucks and tractors. Mostly just to get rid of it. I doubt it gets me any better fuel mileage. I dump filtered used 30W motor oil in my diesel bulk tanks. No exact science in regard to ration. I suspect maybe I end up adding 20 gallons of 30W oil to 1000 gallons of diesel? It doesn't take much to turn all the diesel pretty black.
Years back, it was common practice for big rigs on the road to use discarded waste oil mixed with the diesel. But they had very rugged in-line piston injection pumps. Not the sensitive rotary/distributor pumps some LD cars and trucks have now.
I DO know it does little for adding lube to diesel. Two-stroke-cycle oil added at a 1 to 400 ratio does a much better job.
