Well figuring that I just had a young strapping boy here I thought for awhile about getting him some toys. Figured something on a string would work as he could butt it and it would fly back for more which he probably would like.
Looked around and Toys R Us had a thing called a Hopper Ball. Made of tough vinyl with a handle on it. Made for kids 4 and up with a max of 160#, 18" diameter, $13.
Had an old clothes line pole so I bought 4 of the balls and some nylon rope and you can see the results. He has ignored all his previous toys since getting these so I must have the right thing.
Oh and The hot wire across fixed the gate pushing. I have a couple of pre springing heifers in the lot with him and they liked to push on things too, including the gate, so they liked the toys as well as he did.
Maybe one of you have a similar situation (surely) and this may be of interest to you.
