Gotta put a new roof on the house this year. Half of it is from 1904 and and has to have new rafters and a couple new beams, other half needs tiles replaced and the ends and eves extended some. Got a couple estimates that were just about christmas cancellers and they insisted on supplying all materials.... Local guy was runnin slow and we had just about given up on him. Wife just called with his estimate.... He supplies the wood (also has a sawmill) but we can buy all materials ourselves. After figuring everything up, we can do the entire job, along with materials to build a shed for the tractor and hay equipment, for less than half of the lowest of the other estimates. And he can do it next month instead of next spring. Lookin like a new boiler is in the cards before cold weather too...
That's a nice little boost for the people skills............
