Put that letter in front of a judge in Fort Bend County TX and that lawyer will lose the suit quick. Our Judges absolutely despise the attorneys abusing the general public that way trying to get out of a bill.
Probably not worth the $ and time it would take to pursue it. BUT I have done it just out of spite. It is so much fun to rub their nose in it and get them to pay you and your attorney. I've sued and won against attorneys and leo's that wouldn't pay me.
You might even think about filing a complaint with & sending the letter to the BAR association to see what they think about it.
You might find an attorney that specializes in suing attorneys and see what they have to say about it.
