well i can see that your not one of the ones being affected by this. or tryen to deal with these land sharks . and the B/S about JOBS for the locals . I see hate and discontent around here . I see the lies told to people by these oil companys and the DON'T tell your neighbours what kind of deal we made . Like my one friend that has a new well on his place where they came in and took 8 acres for the pad and now want to take 10 more for a pond for water or the pipe line guys that want to put pipe lines thru and want seventyfive feet across you place and just go ahead and let them come thru and get anywhere near your building and guess what your home owners insurance will be dropped like a rock. Plus they only want to put these pipes 3 ft. down to top of pipe . One guy they will pay 60-70 bucks a foot the next they only offer 15 . Then ya get to pay higher property taxes on your land . as for the jobs ???? Myself i have applied on several and i do have experience in the oil and gas field , i have not heard anything . BUt i do see a lot of out of state trucks and people with souther accents around here . Like my one friend that has a new well he was told that as soon as they start moving in the rig and BEFORE they start to drill he would receive his SPUD fee Check , well they came they drilled and are gone and Bob has not seen or heard from them since . and This Spud fee check is written into his lease , the oil company is now in breach of contract and they do not care they told him go ahead and sue us . And other friend that has a machine shop has done some work for them and they told him that they only pay every 120 days , well it has been 4 months now and he has yet to see his money and when he called them he got the run around and told that he can now sue them .

Today's Featured Article - Chores - by Frank Young. The ceaseless passing of time! It is at once our friend and our enemy. It measures our progress and it makes us old. Like most features of our life, few things are all good or all bad, and most such judgments depend on our own perspective or viewpoint. In our particular hobby, we enjoy the nostalgic return to the days of our youth as we recreate many of the scenes that took place on the family farm that served as the stage for the first few acts of the play that is our live ...
