Looking for opinions on Jeep Grand Cherokees. Anyone have good luck, bad luck, no luck with these vehicles? I'd kind of like to get one next summer if I can sell my old Grand Voyager. Just not 100% sure. This would be sort of a back-up vehicle I would use two or three times a week and obviously when the weather is ugly in the winter. Seems like they are anywhere from 2 to 4 grand for higher milage ones (want one with less than 200,000 and the closer to 100,000 the better). I'm not real particular on the year but would like something 1999 or newer as thats the year of my old van. I understand they have three engine options at least: 4.0 (V6), 4.7, and 5.2 in the limited. Is there any one motor that I should run away from? Is the four wheel drive any good in these? I've heard you want one with the Selec-Trac (sp?) transmission? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
