I think there are several reasons for what happened to JD. First is as said that some are too quick to condemn. But there is blame for everyone here. JD did help a lot and was very helpful and knowledgeable, but like the rest of us he was wrong sometimes too. I know nothing of jd machinery so I can't help there, but I do know about a few things and I know of a few times where JD commented on those subjects and was either inaccurate, misleading or outright wrong. The problem is not that he was wrong, because everyone is wrong from time to time, but that so many here are so anxious to back him up. I have seen more than one person say that I trust JD so I'm going to go with him, even tho I knew he was wrong. If someone would dare to question him, a lot of folks on here would quickly jump on the person questioning Jd and get just as nasty with the person who questioned JD as the people who disagree with him do. I know that a lot of people would not even think of expressing a different opinion to JD because the backlash from his supporters would be swift and sure, so it was not worth the hassle. This happens a lot with him and some other people too. I think this type of thing is what helped contribute to the willingness of some to jump on JD when they had a chance. If people know that there is no chance to disagree with someone then they may be more likely to point out problems than for someone who it is allowed to disagree with.

Last niht I dreamed about the day that I plowed the field of about 10 acres over on what Jimmy and Dandy called the Ledbetter field. I was driving the 1948 8N Ford tractor that Jimmy bought in 48 new This was prebably in about 1951 and maybe even befor the house was built. This would have made me to be about16 years old and I drove the tractor for nothing and would have paid to drive it if I had had any money which I didn't, but neit ... [Read Article]
