Ronnie- I"m glad that things are working out for you and the better half.....she certainly gets the best of care at Mayo.

My better half and I got home today from the NO trip. She likes to see how things are put together, so we enjoyed the Waterloo plant. Made stops in Hannibal, MO, Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, then Dexter, MO, to honor a grave of a Medal of Honor winner (George Sisler) that I trained with in SF for a short time. Remember the USS COLE? Named after one of five MO Veterans who are MOH winners, at the museum in Bloomfield, a town just north of Dexter.

Ladies at the museum were wonderful to visit with.....I said I noticed you don"t have a Green Beret on display, and Lt. Sisler was one. "Would you like one"? YES! I said, I"ll send you one- Patch will be different, It"ll be from the 8th SFG, not the 5th SFG from Nam.

NO was cold and icy....roads shut down. Still a fun trip. I did not contact you about mtg on the return cuz with this weather, you don"t need casual visitors. But I do appreciate your willingness to meet.

Let"s do it another time, hopefully warmer, and when you don"t have so many irons in the fire. Best wishes for your wife"s recovery......Jim

Today's Featured Article - An Old-Time Tractor Demonstration - by Kim Pratt. Sam was born in rural Kansas in 1926. His dad was a hard-working farmer and the children worked hard everyday to help ends meet. In the rural area he grew up in, the highlight of the week was Saturday when many people took a break from their work to go to town. It was on one such Saturday in the early 1940's when Sam was 16 years old that he ended up in Dennison, Kansas to watch a demonstration of a new tractor being put on by a local dealer. It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership, ... [Read Article]
