First 2 speed rear I drove was a 49 Ford F-6, non synchro "crash box" with the vacuum 2 speed button on the dash. That kept the right arm busy. Over the years progressed thru 8,9,10, & 13 speed Rangers, Mach twin stick 10 sp, IH twin stick 5x4, several IH 5 & 2 single axle medium duty tractors for short haul work. Had a Super 10 in a 98 Volvo, Cummins 14 liter 460 horse. Really liked than one, it would walk right up the big west coast hills. Only got to keep that one for 2 years, boss made me take a new 2000 model off the lot. Had some rookie recruits waiting for the rigs with some miles on them. Want to seperate the rookies from the veterans? Take a Stage Coach, 318 Detroit, 4 sp crash box, air controlled throttle. Engine is 35 feet behind you so you can't hear it, no tach. Willie
