Or like the Buckeye Bear that pulled me over one morning . I was west bound on I 76 coming up on the Ohio Turnpike entrance I had just left the truck stop after spending the night and was headed back to Cleveland for a load of salt . I was not in any hurry due to the fact that there would be around five hundred trucks up there getting salt so why should i hurry will just run the back roads and save the toll. . i was in the left lane passen the trucks pulling the grade and i was running about 57 MPh , i hear on the C B that hey we have and east bound bear going past Baliey rd. So what , there i am out in the left lane creeping past the other trucks when Mr. Smokey E bear looks over at me and i am looking at him . Next thing i hear is hey that bear is west bound hammer down lights a going . Look in my mirror and he is setting on my tail gate . I hear him call in my trailer plate and said he would be 3 with me just past baliey rd. Nah first off i can't get over and second off i don't want to stop there and i didn't i pulled off about three miles down the road as it was really the first SAFE place to pull over . Here he comes hotter then a fire cracker . First words out of his mouth were give me your drivers license and reg. and your BILLs (i don't have any BILLS ) he says i want your BILLS again i tell him i have no BILLS . And BTW why did you stop me any way was i speeding I get NO he tells me that he looked Across the interstate and saw my DRIVE SPRING SAGGING . OH really you could see that from across the interstate WOW you must be Super Man . Your over weight and i am going to weigh you > so he goes and calls the scales they are tied up with a steel hauler that is having fun with them as he is up on the scales and now his truck will not restart . So being me and me never to leave a sleeping dog lie i go to work on this bear and keep adding fuel to the fire because he has to be the dumbest bear ever to be put out there . anybody that has ever followed a COAL BUCKET can tell wright off if it is loaded or EMPTY , they sorta bang and clang and bounce around . I let it go for the full time frame that is allowed and i had him so mad that he was swearing at me when i told him that he was done and i was leaving he really got upset and he made one more call to the scale wagon and they were still trying to get the steel hauler off the scales . He had to let me go , he threw my license at me and i let them hit the ground and made him pick them up and hand the to me . While he was messing with me i saw some of the guys i knew go flying past loaded and i knew they were heavy . When he found out i was EMPTY he was almost frothen at the mouth .

Today's Featured Article - Gatherin of the Orange - by Rick Nikolich. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
