Hi I am headed out to a friends property this weekend to check over the 3 point issue on his tractor - he sent me a picture today -it is a Fordson power Major - I do not have a manual yet since I just found out the model today -he says that it used to lift the front wheels of the tractor off the ground when lifting round bales with a 3 point hay spear. Now the 3 point won"t lift at all. I am new to these tractors. What preliminary tests can I do before getting a manual? Are there relief valve/ unloading valves that I can remove to check spring condition? location? any pressure test ports? I have done some research on line. I will need to get a service manual, but I want to check the tractor over first to make sure I get one for the right model. Where is the serial number located ? what age /years were these produced? Thanks Ken
