in the wisdom of agco management, and the fact they buy any other manufacturer to steel the best parts to build there own tractor or badge some Valtra's as Massey.
They bought out Valtra to get the rights to the Sisu motor for the MF due to cat having perkins, then the same with fendt to get the IVT trans they wanted for the big massey.
The Valtra has now been banished from the North american market. It has annoyed a lot of valued valtra customers, and in some areas destroyed the value of Valtra's. There has been rumor they might pull the plug on Fendt here for a while to.
In my area the Valtra price has been ok. but others lost $20.000 in a few weeks. My friends been buying cheap used immaculate low hour in the states for a while.
Basically if we talk to the Massey reps they tell us you got to buy a Massey. But as my buddy told them, Hows that working for you,I don't see many new Massey's around this province, they don't answer and change the subject. And also he says if i wanted Masseys I would have 4 of them not valtra's, again they change the subject. In truth they upset a lot of guys, won't sell them what they want and they go to another color.
Both are good tractors until they go wrong But I prefer The Valtra for my needs. There is still alot on it I can fix. Most of the newer massey is computer stuff and 0000's in test equipment I don't have.
Looks like your an MF man But we won't fight over it. You have your brand I have mine and agco just owns mine for the wrong reasons L.O.L.
