Hi I just talked to Dad about something I remembered him saying while I was working away. There may be a filter on the bottom of the fuel suction pipe in the bottom of the tank. he can't remember, I just looked at the parts page and it looks like there may be a filter on the end of the pipe. Maybe thats plugged to, all he remembers is cleaning the tank out, after more plugging problems a few years later.
We have owned this massey 14 years and I have to try think back to what happened. apart from the odd age/ fuel related breakdowns it's been a good machine for us.
The other thing i just thought is when we bleed the system through the injector pump we feed the fuel shut off solenoid with 12v so it opens and flows the fuel to the main pump when we pump the hand primer. sometimes to get it to fire up and bleed the pump we have to also crack an injector line and run it until it clears a bit. ours needs a pump rebuild it has an external leak on the element barrel. but it still runs good at the moment. More of a fire risk than anything at the moment. it needs doing!
Regards Robert
