.....A used car dealer that's a pathological liar. I can't imagine such a thing.
I have an '04 Dodge 2500 4wd that I wanted to sell. Listed it in a couple places but didn't expect much response this close to Christmas/New Years. Got a couple ridiculous offers, then one solid prospect. That was from a new to the area used car dealer who claimed he had a couple buyers wanting what I had to sell. He made me what I thought to be a fair, albeit not quite "retail" offer. It was still where he could sell it and expect to make $1500 to $1800 real quick.
So. We were set to meet at the bank, exchange money, and sign over the title. I showed on time. He didn't. I called and got the "I'm stuck at the doctors" excuse. Little did he know, I know where he lives. Drove past his house (In a different vehicle) and there sits his car. And there stood the dealer in his driveway. I called again, and get the "I'm still at the doctor" line. I make a deal, I keep my end of the bargain. I actually had an offer of a few hundred bucks more AFTER we made this deal. I told them I couldn't take their offer because I'd already sold it. Now I can't get ahold of that person
I know dang near everyone in this one horse town. Believe me, they'll ALL know what sort class individual we're dealing with.
