I started cutting wood with a little Remington Mighty-mite. Good little saw, but the bar oiler was crap. I still have it, use it around the barn. Then I bought a used McCulloch 1-43, heavy, but reliable as a stone. I use it now and then to remind me how much lighter my Dolmar is. Next one I bought was a Homelite XL12. Great saw, handy with two triggers, only had one carb rebuild and a clutch in 30 years of use. I got a Homelite 20" consumer grade saw, a real piece of junk. I threw it away after a couple of years. The last one was a used Dolmar 6400. It's a little bigger and heavier than I wanted, but the price was right and it's a cuttin' machine. No trouble in five years, just sharpen the chains and use it. So now you have my chainsaw history since 1973, basically anything new is not going to hold up to steady use unless it's top of the line, not sold a Home Depot.
