He has wasted a TON of money on that pickup!! My son had super singles with aluminum rims on his semi to get the weight down. He had to haul a 24 ton load, that's what the feed mill put on for loads and it was up to the owner of the truck to get his truck under 80,000 pounds if he was too heavy. Feed haulers get into all kinds of low traction situations and he said the traction with singles was reduced a little bit but not much. He couldn't tell much difference driving on slick roads. In the end he bought a lighter truck. The price of virgin supers went up to somewhere in the $1100 per tire range for good ones he could trust. When you throw a cap off a dual you can limp home. When you throw a cap off a single you are screwed.
