Either the owner has the old fashioned idea it is better to idle a diesel than shut it off and restart it, or he is making a statement. The statement being 'Listen to my big powerful diesel'!!! Around here the young Cowboys leave their diesel idling by the convenience store door so everybody can hear it. It's a macho thing.
