I recently had my Farmall H's 6 volt generator converted to 12 volts. Now I need to put a 12 volt regulator on it. It saddle mounts onto the generator. In the wiring harness coming along side the engine to the generator there are three wires. One splits off and goes to the coil. One goes back to the amp gauge then to the battery. The last wire would have went to the field coils ("F") from the switch on the electric box where you could select a low and high charge. My plan is to just tape this wire back (wire to the "F" on the generator) to the wiring harness and not use it as the new 12 volt regulator will regulate the field coils for current output. I plan on using a three terminal regulator with "F"(field), "A"(armature), and "BAT"(battery) terminals. Does this plan sound OK???
Did a similar procedure to my super M and it just starts a whole lot better. 12 volt batteries are much improved over the 6 volts sold today. Of course the super M had a base mount regulator with four terminals and didn't use the low / high switch on the electrical box. Much easier to figure out. Thanks for your ideas.

Today's Featured Article - A City Guy's First Tractor - by Fred Hambrecht. After living in apartments in Atlanta for more years than I care to remember, the wife and I decided to move to the country. Humming "Green Acres is the place for me..." we purchased a 29 acre tract about 60 miles south of Atlanta. Next came the house, I could talk about that ordeal for another two weeks... But, I want to talk about my tractor! We didn't even own a lawnmower, and all of a sudden we had enough grass to feed all the starving children of the bovine world. Naturally, I talked
