Well. My dad has called it and says that we are better off buying another tractor with 540, our 2840 has cost us so much money it's not worth investing another 6,000 to maybe have it work another 8 months. My dad had mentioned the 4430. We need something with 540 for the baler and the disc bine, and another chore tractor to replace the 2840. Yes I know it's a huge size difference but my dad thinks the 4430 will do fine. Now I'm not too familiar and will ask but also do my research, are the 40 and 50 series still 540 PTO? And another question, would a 4630 have 540? My dad would like to pull a disc with the 4430 but if you add a rolling basket then you need more power? Would weighted, duals, and possibly turning the fuel injection pump up help? Or would I want to leave the FI alone. We mainly avoid wet fields we don't play in the mud necessarily. But our ground has not one stone and it breaks up very nice, 2 pass chisel and disc and she is ready to plant. A basket would be nice for more fine breakup and to make a level surface after your last pass *beans need to be on level ground so the flex head doesn't eat dirt*.
