I have a 2414, 24" tires and 14 hp. It seems to have plenty of power. The second transmission was made for snowblowing and rototilling, to get slower speeds. Hydraulics would be a plus. These tractors seem to have a good reputation, although I don't have a lot of experience with mine I like it. I have a 1614, the same model as the 2414, but it is a future project. One is a 1971 the other a 1972, both have the two transmissions, and hydraulics. It will be interesting to be able to compare the two when I get the second one running. If I was really going to load one down I think the 16" rears would take some of the torque requirement off of the drivetrain, smaller wheels needing less torque to turn. For most things I don't think it would matter too much. Oh, won the slow race at the local tractor games last year with the 2414. If I get beaten it will be incentive to get the 1614 going as it will go even slower.
