1. Out sourcing has been going on for more than 100 years.
2. People think outsourcing has been what's happened to jobs but that's only a small part of the story. Those factory jobs started going away in the 70's as other countries started to become industrialized and they could produce their own goods. Reduced orders meant reduced jobs.
3. "I'm going to punish companies"? How? When he said that he would have had to get both houses to pass laws so he could punish them. Those laws don't currently exist. But a lot of people believed that, not because it was true or false but because it was what they wanted to hear.
4. A company has to pay share holders and make a profit to stay in business. If consumers opt for cheaper products made overseas these companies have little choice but to A: move too or B: go to robotics, both which cost jobs.
Now before you say I supported the other person go watch the general officer who told a committee that establishing a "no fly" zone in Syria would mean going to war with both Syria and RUSSIA then the other person making a speech how she would support a no fly zone and that if needed a nuclear war with Russia was worth the risk and winnable.
