I have just a small one bay shop. I tell my customers. I will work at this price,you pay the same for the parts as I do. No mark ups so I don't want to hear any complaints. Due to my bad health I will work on it when I can. That got rid of allot of cheap customers. Really hated the ones driving sixty thousand dollar trucks. That complained about a hundred dollar repair bill.Told me he could get it done cheaper in Bryan. Which is 60 miles away. So I said take it to Bryan.
I have about 15 good customers. They pay cash in advance for parts. After I give them a copy of the order sheet. I will search around for the cheapest deal I can find. They know how I work and that I will take care of them. I just finished three days on a ladies mower. Went through everything on it. Just a little push mower. Rebuilt the engine out of good spare parts I had.Charged her 20.00 dollars. Because I know she has no extra money and I am retired. Gives me something to do. I some times get paid in pies and cakes or things from the garden. Fresh milk and butter is also accepted as payment.
