A couple weeks ago, after dark when I went to feed, I saw a coyote in the back yard. Turned on the flood lights and there were three does standing about 35 yards away watching the coyote. The coyote ran to the front of the house and the three does followed. When the coyote came to the back yard again, the three does ran after the coyote and chased it. The does acted like they were trying to herd the coyote. I suspect they were trying to keep the coyote away for a fawn.
We use to have a number of foxes here but few are left as the coyotes have taken over.
