Long but rewarding day here in Southwestern Pa...hay and equipment in the barns and no one is too worse for the wear.
Woke up this morning at 5am to rain and listened to it rain for 2 hours straight. Thought the hay was gone - but took a shot anyway since we had to get it off the field. Tedded it, raked it, turned the windrow, tedded it, and raked it one last time before baling tonight. Gave the ground and the rows time to dry in between. Not much sun today but there was a light breeze and it was in the 80's. Never would have thought we had chance but it's dry and in the barn now. If we hadn't had the tedder (just bought it two years ago) there is no way we would have had a chance. We had a day and a half of drying before the rain came this morning and I think that made a big difference too.
Hope everyone else's hay season is coming along well.
Here are some photos from a few weeks ago when the weather was better and we had some time to pause and snap some photos. My daughter was even helping on top of the stack!
