rrman, If you start in New Mexico go through Santa Fe, then north to Taos, lots of south west art to see. In Colorado, Durango has the Durango Silverton Railroad. In Canyon City you can see the Royal Gorge bridge. Just north of that is Colorado Springs, and you can drive to the top of Pikes Peak, it is all paved now. Visiting the Air force academy is neat. Take independence pass from Leadville to Aspen then down to Glenwood Springs. Head north to Estes Park and go through Rocky Mountain NP. There are tons of stuff to do in the Mountains, just be prepared. I leave on vacation the 25th of September and I am headed down the Colorado river out of Moab UT to raft Cataract Canyon. To much to do and not enough time. Tom
