It boils down to hate and revenge. The shooter is engulfed with hate and he wants revenge. How do we reverse this? Do we teach discipline through fear or love? These shooters don't have self confidence. If they had self confidence they would be out in the normal work world making a fair living. Fear does not build self confidence. Parents who beat their children gain respect but it is through fear. Beating a child tells the child he is bad for doing something bad instead of telling him he made a mistake, now lets solve it. Children listen to their parents more than we realize. Whiny grumbling parents raise whiny kids who act like the world is against them, who blame someone else when they make a mistake instead of manning up to it because that is what their parents do. A person who has good confidence will man up to his mistakes and get on with life.
Like what was mentioned kids video games are all about revenge, kill the other guy because he is bad. How do they kill these bad guys in video games? Guns! They are taught the only reason we have guns is to use them to kill people. Guns in the dities are carried for self defense. Defense against what? Right, other people. Guns are used in war against other humans.
Folks in the city, who happen to be the majority of our population don't see guns as a defense against possibly rabid possoms, raccoons, the burgeoning deer and wild hog populations, they live sheltered lives away from nature. The news shows people being shot but god forbid if they show a rabid skunk being shot.
Well I'm meandering too much, but we all know the core problem with gun violence is the loss of family structure.
