: Rob Rob, I think it's going to depend on which gears you plan to replace whether you have to remove the torque tube from the engine also. We know you'll have to split the rear end from the torque tube in any case. If it's the gear on the PTO shaft itself I think you can get away with just splitting the rear end off since the actual PTO shaft will be right there. However, if you have to replace any gears further up, say on the main transmission shaft coming from the engine, then the torque tube will have to be removed from the engine, since that shaft goes right in to the engine clutch. Unless you know exactly which gears are bad, I think I'd just split the rear end off first, knowing that will have to be done in most any case. Then when you get a better look at things you'll see whether you've got to go any further or not. Have a good day sir. John
